Hill, who Pereira knocked out at UFC 300, responded with a fiery rant targeting Pereira and two other fighters, Jiří Procházka and Khalil Rountree Jr., both of whom Pereira defeated this year.

Hill accused Pereira of taking advantage of referee Herb Dean’s intervention during their UFC 300 bout, claiming it allowed Pereira to land the fight-ending blow.

He tweeted:

“Beat it funny how you rushed lil a** Rountree and dumba** Jiří like you were the man but waited until the refs got in the way to swing at me!!! You will see me again at 100% soon and we both know the fear that was in your heart!!”

Hill Questions Pereira’s Wins

In addition to his accusations against Pereira, Hill disparaged Jiří Procházka’s fight IQ and dismissed Khalil Rountree Jr. as an undersized opponent for Pereira. Comparing his loss to Procházka’s against Pereira, Hill said:

“We had the same opponent last fight. You got dominated and knocked out. I got caught, you got dominated—there’s a huge difference. My man’s (Pereira) literally had your ponytail leaning to the left. I hope you wear that same ponytail in LA so I can lean that motherf—er to the left, right back for you.”

Hill’s frustration stems from his belief that referee Herb Dean’s handling of an accidental groin strike during their UFC 300 fight created the opening Pereira needed to secure the finish. Hill maintains that if not for this incident, the outcome might have been different.

Pereira’s Dominance in 2024

Pereira, now the reigning light heavyweight champion, has had an incredible year, defeating Hill, Procházka, and Rountree Jr. within 12 months. His victory over Hill came via a devastating left hook at UFC 300, followed by a dominant rematch win over Procházka at UFC 303, and a fourth-round TKO of Rountree Jr. at UFC 307.

Pereira responded to Hill’s latest comments with a sharp tweet:

“Calm down, my son. Pass this test and Dad will give you a second chance.”

What’s Next for Hill and Pereira

Jamahal Hill is set to face Jiří Procházka at UFC 311 on January 18, 2025, in a fight that could determine the next challenger for Pereira’s title. Meanwhile, Pereira is awaiting his next opponent, with rumors circulating about a potential clash against Magomed Ankalaev.

Hill also weighed in on Pereira’s chances against Ankalaev, pointing to the Russian’s grappling and counterstriking skills as potential weaknesses for the champion.

“I give Ankalaev a big chance at winning it [against Pereira], just because of the way he fights… There will be openings for him there to land. Plus Ankalaev is a southpaw, so that’s another factor Pereira will have to figure out.”

As tensions rise among light heavyweight contenders, fans eagerly anticipate the outcomes of these key matchups that could reshape the division in 2025.
